We see the Whakatane Seafood Festival as a great way of bringing together our community, wider community and our visitors under a positive banner to celebrate the love for our kai moana.

The Whakatane Seafood Festival organisers are doing everything they can to make this one of New Zealand’s iconic Seafood Festival.  Attracting thousands of locals and out of town visitors to Whakatane to taste the delicacies caught in our local waters in a seafood-focused atmosphere, while soaking up the sun, enjoying a wide range of seafood, wine, beer and live entertainment.  Indulging in breathtaking views of the Whakatane bar, Wairaka, Whale Island and White Island. The perfect setting to tell the story of our local seafood.

Our vision for the festival is to grow it into an iconic New Zealand event while promoting Whakatane and the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The day will not only showcase the very best of New Zealand’s wild caught seafood and fabulous food, but also nautical themed competitions, fishy tales and live entertainment.  Continuing on with the nautical themed festival, we thought it would only be fitting to donated 100% of all the profits made from the Whakatane Seafood Festival to our local Coastguards.

Your support would help make this seafood festival a real success for our community and our local Coastguards.

The Whakatane Seafood Festival 2020 is made possible by locals supporting locals.
